Bodhran, home-built...Only been playing a few months, but wanted a nicer sounding drum than the one I purchased online. I did a lot of research online and tried making my own, I'm pleased with the end result. Maple shell, goatskin (medium thickness sanded down), mid-east adjusters.

  • What tape do you use please?

  • @scottieTbone - Hey Scottie, it's gaffer's tape 3mil...you can use electrical tape same mil. :)

  • @ Hinekde: I bought a maple snare shell and did modifications to the shell and added reinforcement rings, tuning ring etc.. I wanted to see if I'd be able to pull off a drum, since this one was my first. I'm working on my own shell forms currently and plan on making my own shells soon...thank you for your comments :)

  • 5 *****'s What was your total cost with all the material etc......to put your drum together ? Great Job !

  • Thank you! I spent a couple hundred all together for everything I needed. I'm building a 14" that I'll post soon...thanks again! :)
