Woodpigeons courting in captivity

These Woodpigeons are rescues, unable to fly. It is often said that adult woodies cannot do well in captivity, but these two are relaxed enough to be courting, preening each other. Part way through, the male hears an outside woodie and answers with his territorial coo.

For several years wood pigeons have been coming to my garden to feed and bringing their young ones. Unfortunately I saw a rat in the garden yesterday openly eating the bird seed. So looks like I am going to have to stop feeding the birds which is a great shame.
