Thank you for this wonderful video.

@chi854 Boah, I don't think it has to do with complexity. Complexity is an overrated notion ; rather it is for something simple that Aïkido is extraordinary. Something simple that requires great sensitivity, not worldly, mundane intelligence.

aikido cannot be looked upon it can be feeled upon :) I have great respect for Nishio sensei but I do so for Hikitsuchi sensei... They both are great it is just a different point of view that creates the different way that others see it. But still in it's very core it is the same

Not at all impressive. Maybe it looked better in-person.
I like aikido. I am shodan Nishio-Ryu, but this display of art doesn't look very martial.

Aikido is a way of training. It's ultimate purpose is not developing the ability to fight but learning to develope unification of one's mind and body.

Once again, not everyone likes Rembrandt, Yoyo Ma, The Beatles, Golf, Astrology...and the reason is the same curse of ages,"lack of understanding, ignorance, and / or a closed mind"!
'If you argue with a fool, someone watching from a distance cannot tell who is the fool'?

I study a different martial art entirely, but i atleast have the decensy to respect this man.

Actually, although Aikido did not 'exist', the principle of Aiki did. Samurai tried to master this principle in their practice.
Aikido ("way of aiki") is a modern adaptation of this practice. Many techniques are based on basic samurai weapon training, as is the posture and mindset.
On another note, the samurai were still around when the modern budo came into being. They weren't in POWER anymore, but that's a different thing.
Maybe when I have been practicing for 50 years instead of the 19 I have been I will be able to understand where my Sensei and Sensei's like Hikitsuchi are in their practice of Aikido. Untill then I watch, and try and learn.

pay no mind to idiots, aikido is far to complex for their understanding.
