Jackie worked out of Los Angeles, USA. She started in the late 1950s using various names like Jackie Dee. Her first semi-hit period was on the Liberty label early 60s, where she had Needles and Pins and When You Walk In The Room. Then she moved away from rock&roll in the late 60s on the Imperial label, with What The World Needs Now Is Love etc. Here's a showcase of some Liberty R&R, mostly hard to find. She recorded When You Walk In the Room twice. The second from 1964/65 is always used in her hits compilations. This is her first from 1963/64, slightly different, and it's the one that charted.
Jackie's singing here just punches me in the gut! JDS was a gift to American Pop.
