This was a powerful movie in showcasing racism and hate... anyone who hates blacks, or jews-- may I remind you that "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL."

@defleppardgirl2009 It was recently, but then it was removed by the user. I luckily got to watch the whole thing not too long ago on here.

This movie was a piece of shit, over acted crap. I was in Mississippi as a young man when this case was going on and none of that shit happened. You know what happened, they got a retrial on new evidence, which wasn't hard to do. Then they convicted him, and no one gave a shit because everyone in the State knew he did it and was an asshole to begin with. There wasn't some redneck uprising in the woods and shit. At least Mississippi Burning was a good flick.

Amazing movie.. watched it in Law class last week.

The judge in this movie... he's gotta be Joe in the new *Hawaii Five-O* series.

Author Willie Morris, although uncredited, served as a consultant for this film. He later wrote about his experiences in a book called, "The Ghosts of Medgar Evers: A Tale of Race, Murder, Mississippi, and Hollywood."

does anyone know the background music??
I'd have to say that this is one of the best movies of the 1990's. Honorable mentions go to "The Shawshank Redemption (1994)," "Beavis And Butt-Head Do America (1996)," "South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut (1999)," "Titanic (1997)," "Saving Private Ryan (1998)," & "The Green Mile (1999)." On the other side of the coin is the uplifting fact that the man who was convicted of murdering Medgar Evers is now dead himself. RIP Medgar, Burn in hell Byron!

A great movie!! Alec Baldwin, Whoppi Goldberg, Yolanda King and James Woods were great in this movie! James Woods is totally Scary as Byron DeLa Beckwith!! That was one evil man! Thank god he's dead now, but it was a total injustice that it took so long to convict him. I read a really good book called THE GHOST OF MEDGAR EVERS that was a super tribute to Medgar! RIP Medgar.
