If politics concerned itself primarily with logic, then Dr Paul wouldn't necessarily be voted in, but the issues he raises -- of financial crisis, empire building, big government, and etc etc -- would be of much greater concern to media and other candidates. Logic has little to do with the political scene. Logic is weak against clever rhetoric, for most television-watchers who operate on the cranial frequency of dogs and other trainable creatures.
People begin to believe that Dr Paul is of poor thinking, he's senile, or just insane. But really he's just a poor conversationalist. Logic carries very little weight for most people. They take their cues in body language, tone of voice, how long one speaks for, etc. And Dr Paul's message is all conveyed by logic. Most of it is above the average person, it would seem. People understand Dr Paul is being socially overpowered. Of course it's more of a low-blow, really.
Dr Paul's greatest weakness is rhetoric. Meaning basically the way he conducts himself socially. Predators like Stepanopoulos are masters of conversation. From the beginning of this interview Stephanopoulos is incredibly dismissive. Body language and tone of voice suggest a contempt for Dr Paul. He distrusts Dr Paul. It's difficult to pin Stephanopoulos because his rhetoric is subtle. He doesn't say anything quote-worthy but he insinuates a lot, which you notice in Youtube comments.
