Spiritual Encounters explores the curiousrelationship between Israeli backpackers and the emissaries who run the Chabad House in Melbourne, Australia. The documentary asks why Chabad are so successful in their outreach to young Israelis abroad, and examines how a microcosm of young Israeli society hailing from the Kibbutz to the yeshiva perceives Judaism and their relationship with their faith. For some, the encounter with Chabad emissaries will change not only their travels in Australia, but the course of their lives as Jews.
Subjects for discussion after the film include:

"The Quest for Spirituality" among young Americans and Israelis- similarities and differences
The Israeli love-hate relationship with Judaism

The influence of the Chabad movement on the face of Judaism
israelis abroad are without doubt the most arrogant unpleasant people ive ever met. They've all just left the army where ive heard they are all off their heads on drugs. Surely for a country with a dodgy history it would be best for them to not act like complete c u next tuesdays.
