Spiritual Encounters explores the curiousrelationship between Israeli backpackers and the emissaries who run the Chabad House in Melbourne, Australia. The documentary asks why Chabad are so successful in their outreach to young Israelis abroad, and examines how a microcosm of young Israeli society hailing from the Kibbutz to the yeshiva perceives Judaism and their relationship with their faith. For some, the encounter with Chabad emissaries will change not only their travels in Australia, but the course of their lives as Jews.
