This is just an update to the Buck vantage Select in the Paperstone handle review I did. The liner lock has failed miserably on this knife. It no longer locks up tightly and any slight pressure on the spine causes the lock to fail. This knife is going back to Buck. I can no longer recommend this knife unless the problem is remedied. Thanks for watching.

  • btw i was going to pick one of those up but have since changed my mind. thanks for the video.

  • @morph Well I am glad that you caught it. To be perfectly honest, you would probably never experience lock failure in most tasks. You are never going to actually tap on the back or spine of the blade. But as I was cutting through some thick cardboard at work, the knife got stuck, and as I pulled it out thats when the lock failed... After that point more blade play progressed and the lockup continued to get worse. Take care

  • I was just thinking about buying this, but I am glad I saw your video. I know Buck has a lifetime warranty, but I rather not deal with all the return crap. I'll stick with my Cara Cara.

  • @atatkfighter I loved everything about the knife other then the lock. It has great ergonomics, blade shape, pocket clip, the knife is thin... The test I did here is something you would probably not ever experience when using the knife for EDC purposes. But as I was flicking it around and playing with it for several days, the lockup just started to loosen. I may try another Vantage Select in the future though, take care!

  • Ah that sucks, had a few cheap knives do that to me.

  • @MegaAirsoftAddict Yep. But in reality, I could probably use the knife in general use and never notice the problem. Just something I noticed though...

  • wtf buck! concentrate your efforts on quality an durability instead of goofy trends. Been out of the knife scene for a decade or so and this is just dangerous. these new ''knives/toys'' are garbage. the last folder i bought was a benchmade pinnacle, it has never failed me, but i do of course realize the jump between $30 - $130 but still there should be no excuse for knives of this caliber to fail. if buck keeps going along this path i see bankruptcy in their future.

  • @reallifedad Nothing actually, I decided just to return it to the vendor I bought it from and let them deal with the issue.

  • what ever happened with this
