but however , tony jaa is a great thai fighter its not importent if he he is kuy or something else.For me he is Thai and I believe that he is also proud to be Thai.

@Khmer96pride Ok I see, Kuy is similiar to Khmer. Laweg is another word for calling Khmen. It's just Bangkok people come up with that Jargon. I'm not sure if others or Khmer-ethic would get the word Laweg.

Yes yes but I don't talking about the Nationality my Friend I talking about his Ethnicity !
The word Nationality is different to Ethnicity.And I can provide you that he is of Kuy descendant. What is Laweg ? I belive that Thai People call us Khom or Kamen.Kuy were more similiar to us Khmer then the Thais are.They speaking Kuy Language that is Familiar to Mon-Khmer many of them can also speak Khmer like Tony Jaa or his Parents.

@Khmer96pride When someone is born in Thailand and bares Thai nationality, sir, he is Thai. That is why he is called a "Thai martial artist". The dialect he speaks or discourse community he belongs too is his sub Thai ethic.
When someone is Issan or Laweg(Khmer) in Thailand is like being a Hispanic in US or being a Scottish in UK. They bare US/UK nationalities.
By the way, What is Kuy. I'm Thai but I don't know that and it sounds like a swearing word in Thai to me.

I have found that Tony Jaa is not Thai or Isaan he is Kuy.
That is the reason why his family speaks Khmer at home.
