Escaflowne - Yakusoku wa Iranai

When I first heard this song in 1999, I fell in love with Yoko Kanno's music. I hadn't even seen Escaflowne, much less known who Yoko Kanno was. A friend of mine told me to look up her music, and this is what came up.

I learned how to play the song back in 2000, but with lots of wrong chords, as I never had the theory background to even remotely comprehend what Yoko Kanno had composed.

I finally saw the entire series for the first time with my buddy Andrew in 2005. Shortly afterwards, I decided to relearn the song with the proper chords and harmonies.

Of course, the instrumentation of the original differs greatly from what a lone piano can accomplish, so of course, I decided to have some fun with it. :)

Recorded as a catharsis after unwillingly writing up a homework assignment.
