  • Also at 2:41 my man said "they know what time it is" when referring to how dudes see DC. That's NY slang right there that went nationwide .As far as stealing music, I can't count how many hip hop songs DC dudes redid Go Go style? On realz big up to the DMV. I been here 20 yrs so i definately got love and respect for the area, no doubt. But don't get it fuck up on who started what. Cause a dude can run down a list of things DC got from NY including slang.

  • @kcmartin1 What Slang did DC Steal from NYC?

  • Yo Puff didn't get Versace from DC! I was in HU with Diddy and been livin in DC ever since. Never seen DC dudes sport Versace til Biggie dropped.REAL TALK! And how yall gonna say DC influenced Diddys Swag when that nucca from NY, the blueprint to swag? All these young dudes from DC running around talkn that "Yo Son" , rockn beef & broc timbs and northface jackets, where yall get that from? NY started all that shit, just to point out a few things DC got from us! Even the term swag started in NY!

  • @abxtale Look at the video at 2:14 . Rayful Edmond is sporting Versace and thats from the late 80's. Biggie didn't come out until 94. I have never heard someone from DC use Yo or Son before in my life.

  • @urbanflavorz My dude... In the 2000s up to date, you NEVER heard none of these young DC dudes say " Son" as in "nah son" or "yo son"? I'm in Oxon Hill right now on Southern ave & i hear it all the time. I came to DC in 88 & I can say that your average dude in the DMV was NOT rockn Versace. Maybe dudes who was gettn money at the time. But in DC Vesrace wasn't even in the average dude vocab in 88. ! And I always respected how DC gets down with theirs. But let's keep it real here!

  • @abxtale Yeah u might be right with todays DC youth. But the 90's and 2000's DC would never say no yo or son or any of that ny talk. Yeah the hustlers were rockin Versace, or course the avg dude wasn't they couldn't afford it lol. But what NY rapper back in the late 80's was even fakin like they wore Versace?? None of them was even rappin about it, when Versace was what DC hustlers were rockin. Why would Biggie Smalls HIMSELF say "Miami, DC prefer Versace". If that was a NY Style???

  • @abxtale iono but i think this dude is a youth because his "facts" are shaky. lol And notice how when something they dont kno about they call it "bama shit". I remember a dude sayn "rap" is that "bama NY shit". But its mighty funny damn near the whole DC is claiming they're hip hop or they've been rapping forever. lmao this area is funny and full of frontn ass cats. They hate on what we do and then turn around and do it. Jus like dreds now everybody in their momma here is rockn them.

  • DC need to knock it off Cali dont need nothing from none of these niggas

  • @nsayne93 Yeah Go-Go shows how far back rap goes in DC. I see you point and all it's flaws. Can I name 10 no but, I can give 6 off the top of my head. I've was out in the streets so I know there are more. It's funny how New Yorkers come down here and think they know everything DC, but are always so wrong. 1. Section 8 MOB (which had a few people on the label signed to Tommy Boy) 2. Nonchalant 3. DJ Scorpio 4. Fat Rodney 5. Tony Blunt 6. BLACK INDIAN

  • @coop1974a lmao ok GO GO live tho... obviously you missed my point. Ive never said ppl from DC didnt rap. My point was cats from out here didnt really get into rapping until maybe the last 7 years. Wasnt no kids out here making mixtapes or demos in the 80's, 90's or early 2000's even. Wasnt any kids out here tryna make beats or DJ unless it was go go. Matter fact can you name at least 10 rappers from out here that were relevant in the 80's 90's or 2000's that I can say Ive heard of? NOT

  • @MaybachMark after this comment I kno for a fact you have no clue about NY. Stop snitching LMAO who's getting money out here. If you talkn about the drug game dude that shit been dead. There's nobody on the streets making money like that usless they moving weight. Soooo please YOUTH we off that.

  • @MaybachMark O God you sound like another one of them cats that haven't been on a plane or past Minnesota Ave. Matter fact you prolly think going to Waldorf Charles County is traveling far. Basically dont even talk about my town if you've never really been there. Then you say you cant name one thing yall got from NYC? GTF off my thread. Read all of the above. But since your from DC I really dont expect for your to be able to.

  • @nsayne93 && NY full of funny ass, off brand ass, fake ass CALIFORNIA GANGS, bama ass cloths, niggas just think yall gon come down here and steal our shit and get away wit it like yall did Cali. u caint even name one thing we ever got from ny. We official ova here. dont yall know w be laughin @ yall bama asses

  • @nsayne93 tell yall men stop snitchen on us and stop comin down here gettin robbed. we dont use none of dat bama ass slang yall be usin or rock dem big baggy ass cloths llamf' we been gettin money and we culd make it anywhere. and we dont go like nuffin # yall know wassup foreal

  • @kcmartin1 nigga we got out own style, music, culture and they right people do like and jock our style AND we had go-go before hip-hop fool. ANNNDD do u know how much go-go samples in hip-hop and r&b??? we been had money and we dont need no otha city to co-sign our swagg. #trippin talkn bout we stealin slang youngin

  • @nsayne93 Look up Go-Go live and you will see DC cats on stage rapping

  • @abxtale Slim your talking about yougins who don't even where the slang "son" came from. back in the 80's or 90's if came around saying "son" you would get joaned on so back you'd have to fight. And as far as Vesrace who do you thank Puff was seeing wearing it other than the DC ballers. If you listen to the interview with Alpo you'll hear him say how DC was big on name brands. I travel the country and hit all the big events and people Know us by our dress code & they never confuse us with NY.
