The Stanley Cup, the oldest and most revered trophy in all professional sports, made its "acting" debut on the set of the longest-running television show in broadcast history, "Guiding Light." The Cup shot a scene with the show's most popular couple, Jonathan and Tammy, played by recent Daytime Emmy winner Tom Pelphrey, and Stephanie Gatschet, respectively.

In the scene, Tammy leaves Jonathan for Stanley (The Stanley Cup). Jonathan confronts the new couple in Company, the trendy restaurant in the fictional town of Springfield.

When asked to explain why she has chosen Stanley over Jonathan, Tammy admits, "Stanley is the kind of guy I've been looking for all my life. Older, polished, well traveled...He's just...he's one of a kind...a man of the people."

  • The Stanley Cup does not give a fuck.

  • Okay...this is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. Then again, who doesn't love Stanley?

  • lol, oh wow. What show is this?

  • Ahhh . . no CanadianLady. It's "I had seen" or "I saw" - not "I seen". Bad grammar. And you probably say "irregardless" as well. Well to all of you that do say that - there is no such word as that. It's "regardless". Irregardless is a double negative. Sheeeshh!!

  • It's still the f.a cup you moron, the stanley cup has been re-plated many times, so by your own logic it would never be older than 1 year at any given time. Even so, some stupid yachting team trophy, the americas cup or something is still older than the stanley. Sorry to dissapoint you, but it's kind of a fact and you can't escape that. Still it doesn't matter about the metal, the trophy is the trophy and that never changes.

  • Hey you ass...the FA trophy was stolen and probably melted down in 1895...so the Stanley Cup is older than the FA cup :D Hockey rules...bitch::D
