@monstersuspenders What do you mean underweight? Females are around 90~100 lbs. Males are 95~120 lbs. This is not written in stone just averages. The weather they are raised in plays on the coat thickness they have. Without seeing pictures it hard to tell. Try asking your Veterinary and stay the hell away from store bought cheap stuff. Try finding an feed store near you, they stock natural feeds for dogs and is 10 times better then China Mart's kill a dog special!

@njfanatic cooked bones wont kill a dog....those accidents r so rare,like u chockin of ur own food which can happen also....thats just stupid!

i feel bad, my akitas very underweight and not fluffly. when r they suppose to fluff out? hes turning 4 or 5 in June

Barf (raw) diets are the best food for dogs. I fed my border collie raw his whole life with no problems.

chicken cacus is much better and then u mince the cacus very h good for akitas i have had them 20 years and he looks amazing.

ok dudes or poeples or who ever you are do you no that large breeds like the akita there not suppost to eat bones because it will blowt in there belly.........and thats why your suppost to put water in there food....:)cuz i have to do that to my akita my friends akita died from blowt belly

sadly YOU are misinformed about raw feeding, we have raw fed our Akitas for a long time NOTE :THE RIBS bones/meat ARE RAW , cooked bones can kill a dog !!
& yes I have had dogs bloat , but it was due to stress not meats/bones ~ do some research on raw feeding & on bloat.
