WNEP Channel 16's DTV crawl warning of the February 17th analog shutdown date. Even though legislation has passed postponing the mandatory analog TV turnoff until June, the full power TV stations in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market are sticking to the original February 17, 2009 date.
UPDATE: WNEP shut off their analog transmitter at 12:30 in the afternoon. They got so many calls that they turned it back on around 2 PM. The WNEP web site states that "IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST WE'LL BE LEAVING OUR SIGNAL ON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. MORE INFO ABOUT OUR PLANS FOR THE ANALOG SIGNAL IN THE COMING DAYS AND WEEKS."
@pancakeman22 We removed the sound so as not to violate the copyright of the TV show. There was no audio related to the crawl.
