Apologies if I missed something in understanding this tutorial. However, when you want to add multiple points at "Heading 2" level e.g. 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and so on, it does not work. Likewise, if we want to have numbers 2.1.1, 2.1.2 at heading 3 level, does not work as expected. Just make a minor change - just place the cursor at the start in the field "Enter formatting for number" before doing the "Legal Style Numbering" step

OMG Thank you so much. I just upgraded to Word 2007 from Word 2003. In Word 2003, I knew styles like the back of my hand; however, I couldn't figure out how to do this in Word 2007. My hat goes off to you!!!!!
