Brockton chef Rony Forges will be making plenty of fried plantains at Tamboo Bistro next Tuesday — at least 1,000 fried plantains — to celebrate the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. The Main Street restaurant will host an inaugural celebration, which is open to the public, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The event will feature a live simulcast of the inaugural ball in Washington, D.C., on a 216-inch, high definition screen.
