@micsir888 Grief strikes me and sorrow maddens me,
Love annoys me and misfortune comforts me,
Desire follows me but cannot help me,
I cannot enjoy the great good that [she] wishes me,
From such a life, for God's sake, may I be released!

@micsir888 Il me semble que Josquin des Prés écrivait en roman ou en ancien français.

Ensemble Clément Janequin are superb, but the sound here is taken from Cantus Records C 9607 "Vous ou la mort": Flemish courtly love songs of the 15th century, Currende Consort, Capella Sancti Michaelis and Concerto Palatino with Guillemette Laurens, Kateline Van Laethem, Jan Caals, Jan Van Ensacker, Erik Van Nevel and Job Boswinkel.

Thanks again.

I'm afraid I don't know all that much about the subject. I don't imagine that the text is translated from Latin, but it's not actually known. The author is anonymous. The ensemble is "Ensemble Clément Janequin", I think, if that was your other question.

Merci pour ces mots. Quel accompagnement. Est-ce une traduction du latin?
