This video is pointless. And Within Temptation started long time before Evanescence, they've been always a REAL band, and they have demonstrated they are great composers and performers.

In my opinion Evanescence (well Amy Lee now) has a long way to run to be at their level. And I'm a huge fan of Ev as well, but there are things you can't deny.

@aztkification Of course you know better than the band itself. Go to their website and you'll find out - "Formed in 1996(!) by guitarist Robert Westerholt and vocalist Sharon den Adel". Why do you compare old ToT, (even old WT) with Evanescence? Their music was totally different. Do you really find so many similarities between, for example, "Velvet Darkness They Fear" and "Fallen" or "Origin"? I don't.

@aztkification To be honest, many european bands (including WT, Lacuna Coil and ToT) changed their sound into more mainstream after Evanescence achieved worldwide success. You don't believe me? Listen to "The Heart of Everything" by WT, "Storm" by ToT, or "Karmacode" by Lacuna Coil. All these albums were released after "Fallen"... but does it really matter?

@aztkification After all, it's not about similarities and accusing of copying each other. The most important thing is that all these bands make a really beautiful and emotional music that makes us happy. All these wars between "fans" are just stupid. So, grow up and just enjoy the music.

I don't know why some of you are pissing and moaning. Sure, WT was out long before Evanescence, but come on, guys, they're both INCREDIBLY talented women with amazing voices. And their styles are so similar, I think its great that Sharon den Adel was such an influence on Amy Lee, and frankly they're so equivalent in raw talent I think the people saying one is better than another are obviously just not very open-minded. They're both really, really amazing! So no more complaining! Listen and love!

Evanescence is better BUT I love both bands.... I don't know why we must complain them... they both make good music, and I think, it's better if we're just listening to this music, not complaining....(sorry for my bad english, I'm not native speaker, I've just started to learn it)

Within Temptation and Evanescence are both awesome bands. :D Evanescence and The Unforgiving are two of the best albums of the year.
