Paul is an extreme cyclist. He loves hill climbing; the gruelling up-hill stages of professional cycling races made famous by Tour de France winner Federico Bahamontes. His mate Justin, meanwhile, is an urbane urbanite who would rather see the countryside from the inside of a car.   • I'd bet that the second cow from the camera produces more than any of the others.

  • thanks for that :), just seen it in the extra information thing aswell, i cycle up darwen tower which is 375m so quite a bit bigger. maybe when i can legally drink i'll take a trip up tan hill for a pint :)

  • According to Wikipedia, the pub is at 528 metres above sea level. Looks like a nice climb, doesn't it?

  • hi, does anybody know the altitude of this hill just for interest? it sounds like a challege, i cycle up a hill of 300m almost daily up an extremely steep path on my mountain bike, just want a comparison :)

  • The ride down Arkengarthdale from Tan Hill to Reeth is one of the finest anywhere, but doing it the other way, only to go down in a cage?
