Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez invites representatives of Colombia's FARC rebels to Caracas next week to broker a humanitarian agreement between Colombia's government and FARC rebels.

In FARC's jungle camps, there's cautious optimism that the meeting might produce a breakthrough to exchange hostages for FARC fighters held in Colombian prisons.

Al Jazeera's cameraman gained rare access for a glimpse of the fighters'
routine and to hear their outlook on Colombia's future.

  • Funny, they cover FARC as if it's a legitimate group, not an assassin, drug dealer, terrorist group. And although Arab they keep the Anglo-Saxon habit of calling America: "Western Hemisphere", uhg.

  • Que? " bastard criminal" Hugo???? What laws has he broken??? I recommend that You check Your head Hugo is just showing FARC that they have already won their War against the criminal Governments that they have fought for so long. Hasta la victoria siempre! {Ever onward to victory}

  • Hugo Chavez can talk to them because it takes a bastard criminal to talk to other criminals and understand each other.

  • They don't want justice or peace, just power.

  • I'd like to see Fox News get this kind of footage.

  • farc come mierda. communismo es muerto.

  • que viva las Farc, no justice no peace!

  • Gramra,

    It's simple. Hugo Chavez is trying to take the leadership of latin america anti-american faction.

    As the Colombia war against FARC is financed by the US, the president Chavez is the person who the FARC want to intermediate the issue for the anti-US policies.
