Here's the thing. A lot of people do stop by and make comments with no other purpose but to be hurtful. Those comments are deleted without a second thought by me.

If you have something useful to contribute here, than please do, but I believe that it is paramount that we treat each with respect.

Respect and Dignity for all humans, regardless of how different, is the only way we have a chance of surviving the many and great challenges of the near future.

The comment from misslibbybelle is being reported to You Tube for being against their policies as it promotes violence. Promoting violence against innocent and gentle people is a much bigger crime in my book than dressing or acting like a child!

I don't have to like you to understand that you may be different from me, or may like something that I dislike or think is a bit strange. I measure you by your actions, not your fantasies, your race, your religion, your country of origin or even your fetish.

If one is living a successful life, not hurting anyone, why should I care about what they do in private? If one has found a way to comfort his or herself that doesn't hurt anyone, who am I to judge? For that matter, who are you to judge?

People think that being an AB is weird because they don't understand it. If they took more time to try to understand it instead of hating AB's they'd learn a lot. Everyone has a childlike side to them. It's just us AB's choose to express it instead of suppressing it.

@anonymousABDL Thanks! It seems like an under-researched area of psychology and you're probably right about why- the stigma around it prevents people from feeling comfortable enough to bring it up. While I don't partake in these types of activities, I think it's worth looking into. Even if it's just to help remove the negative stigma that surrounds it. The BDSM community has been studied and that has helped better understand the life style, so hopefully the same will be done here.

Jennifer E. Pate and Glen O. Gabbard published an article titled Adult Baby Syndrome in 2003 and that article is available online.

DPF sold a paper that I have a copy of somewhere that I think was titled Psychosexual Infantilism. I am not sure if it was subjected to peer review.

Their were extensive interviews of a few ABs and ageplayers for the book Different Loving, but while I think they did a good job, it is more pop-psychology.

Good question. I've got to get to my local university's science library to see if there have been any articles published in the past few years, but the answer is not much.

Most ABDLs are very private about what we do. Some will socialize with other ABDLs or the BDSM community but that's about it.

Very few ABDLs seek "treatment", and even fewer get into a legal situation where they receive compulsory treatment, so there is very little scientific documentation.

@teteira100 some do however it not as common as wetting the diaper, for myself I do sometimes but never in public because that in my personal opinion is impeding on other's right to consent. what I mean by that is by messing diapers in a public setting we would make it uncomfortable for those who did not give their consent to be involved in my form or play.
