Dante's Inferno: a notorious Poem by some dude from around the 13th century and his views on Hell. In the poem, he takes a trip through Hell and writes a long poem about it. Of course I had to read it in school. After reading it, we had to do one of like ten projects that shows our understanding of what we read. So I decided to group with two fellow classmates, one who has not even read the book because he's not in the same class, and recorded an original music called "Dante's Inferno" (very original, I know).

Some information on the song: It sounds weird in the beginning because we used an unusual interval that was never used during the Renaissance because it sounded so bad, thus nicknamed the "Devil's Interval" and anyone that did use the interval was put to death. And we decided that Metal was the way to go, for it's known was the "Devil's Music"

So put together the devil's music and devil's interval, some inferno pictures (yes, there were only so many on the internet that I repeated most of them) some skull and flame pictures, and several days recording and several hours mixing the music, and several hours of making the video, there comes the video also called Dante's Inferno.

Enjoy

  • I hate it that people call it "Dante's Inferno" while it's actually the Divine Comedy. And it has hell, purgatory and paradise, so Dante's Inferno is not quite right.

  • @Lucap1000 I'm sorry not everyone, myself included, does not refer to the epic poem by it's proper name. However, in my defense, due to limited class time spent on this poem, we only covered the inferno portion and only mentioned that purgatory and paradise were mentioned later, but we never read or studied them. Now I feel like I'm missing something to my experience... however, this was good enough to pass that section of the class with flying colors :) Cheers!

  • Hey how long is the book, and where can I buy it?

  • @Johnnyboy414 It's somewhere between 200 pages (which was my version) to 300+ depending on the font (mine was very tiny) As for buying, the prices ranged a lot. Just by Googling "Dante's Inferno (book)" in their shopping section (between their "news" and "gmail" tabs) got me somewhere. The lowest price about $7, because it's a really old book. Take a look and good luck getting a decent copy :)

  • @Johnnyboy414 On second thought, I found the full book online. It's on fullbook(dot)com. Once there, search for dante's inferno (stupid youtube restriction on posting links or else I would've). Have fun :)

  • @Johnnyboy414 Sorry about the previous comment, there's an s after the URL [ fullbooks(dot)com ]. Cheers!

  • @paintballftw69 Agreed... Dante had quite a messed up mind... The video game looks cool though :P

  • this book scares the hell out of me

  • @shadow0116957 It's a musical interval, aka, distance between two notes. It's an augmented 4th/diminished 5th. If you know piano, an example might be a C to an F#/Gb. It sounds so dissonant, if you play it, you'll know what I mean. In this song, it's in D minor, so we used the starting notes D to G#/Ab. Hope this helped :)

  • How do you play the Tritone or the Devils note
