Is Content really King? Is Hyperlocal the future of American journalism? These commonly-held myths about American media were debated and debunked by a luncheon panel discussion on March 24, 2011 hosted by the George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs. The event was held in association with the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism, and their director Tom Rosenstiel was on hand to present five myths that are no longer true according to data from his latest report, the "State of the News Media 2011."
The luncheon was held in conjunction with delegates to the 2011 International Women's Media Foundation conference held at GW March 22-25.
In this video, a panel of media experts reacts to the data from the Project for Excellence in Journalism's report.
