Learn how to record an electric guitar amplifier with our video tutorial that demonstrates microphone placement on the cone of a speaker. SoundPure's Chief Engineer, Jason Richmond, demonstrates how to get different tones based on how you mic an amp. Learn how to track guitars for rock, jazz and more. We used a Royer 101 on the Flickinger Velvet Mite 10 Watt Amp, with the Flickinger Spaghetti Western Spring Reverb unit. If you have any questions about the techniques or gear used in this demo, call the experts at Sound Pure today at 919.682.5552. or 888.528.9703.

  • he might be a grammy nominee, but the playing here is a bit vicars piss to understand the key diffrences with the tone

  • @EvelcyclopS Well our English isn't that great over here [we are Americans and only dabble in the language]. The playing is the playing, the recording of the playing is the recording of the playing. If you can't hear the difference in the microphone placements, there really isn't much we can do about that - but thanks for listening.

  • I would love if you could do this type of video with a hi-gain amp and a low-tuned guitar :D

  • @kevaso It's difficult to contemplate everyone's needs, but the results of this technique are equally brilliant in a variety of situations... look for more tutorials coming from us. However, in the meantime, if you have some questions about what gear would be ideal for your particular situation, please don't hesitate to contact us by phone +1-919-682-5552, or e-mail audio@SoundPureDOTcom. We have a ton of high-gain amps recorded on our actual website.

  • @irockyouroll Well actually there is nothing new in the info - though it was well presented. I think you may want to read where I said: Not a huge deal, it's just a production call, so don't be offended - it's your video - if YOU are happy with it, that's fine..

  • @lastdaysguitar your point? are you mad, this vid was great, could have just left a comment saying thanks.
