  • I think the interest in standby power for mobile phones is a little silly because the modern chargers use less that 0.1 Watts when they are done charging. On the other hand, a microwave oven takes 4 Watts and this does add up over time. Keep in mind that this is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So even though it is small, it adds up to a lot.
