http://ChariseCarter.com (Work at home mom of 3) ~ My children and I participated in the event here in Chicago with Run For Congo Women which is an organization raising awareness about the "War Against Women" taking place in the Democratic Republic of Congo. There's a special press release and page on my site as well as the links below with more details.

Once that happens, there will be no need to use the military to secure the mines and soldiers will be returned to their baracks, the people of the DRC will sort out their own governments, and money will be available to develop agriculture, manufacturing and infrastructure.
The only permanent solution is for the theft of Africa's resources to stop.

This abuse of women in the Congo is just part of a bigger picture.
Please google and read:
"Three cheers for eve ensler"
by Keith Harmon Snow.
If you really want to do something (and I know your hart is in the right place), please understand that the abuse of women in the DRC is part of a terror campaign against local villagers, to move them away from the mines and control coltan.
These resources belong to the people of the DRC, and must only be sold through their government.
