Long after her MGM contemporaries, Garbo and Norma Shearer went into retirement in their early 40s, Crawford hung in there tough in what was even more of a man's world then than now. I'm curious to wonder how much better a country we'd have right now if even half our politicians had the kind of backbone Crawford was never without. Even for prize money, I couldn't name five as tough as this lady in Hollywood today. Could you?
