Myllie was born in 1910 in the Red River country of Central Canada. He got his first fiddle outfit and 48 lessons in 1926 by mail order and soon became a great fiddler with a vast repertoire. His wife was champion step dancer. Later he moved to British Columbia. He won many fiddle contest, including the U.S. National Senior title in 1982. He is accompanied by his son, Ray, on accordion in this video made in poor light in our living room at the time he recorded his second record for our label, Voyager Recordings.
Oh wow...my grandpa played this when I was a little kid. After he had died, and I started learning fiddle songs off of old tapes my grandma had recorded of him, this was one of the songs I picked up from him....I never knew the name of it, and now I do. Thanks for posting this!
