Just making some noise testing out the new pickups. Similar riffs side by side with old pickups and new. I will be uploading a video fully demoing the Aftermaths soon. Recorded guitars direct into pro tools using my Pod X3, no further compression or EQ added.

  • First I could really not hear any difference, then I compared 0:09 and 0:29 over and over and heard that 0:29 is a little bit tighter... Will the difference be much bigger in "reality", I mean with an amp? I'd die of happiness if you could post a video when you compare with an amp, though it seems hard :/

  • @NoaOno Hey man, unfortunately because I made this video before and after the swap it would be difficult to repeat, because it would mean switching the pickups in and out again and I can't do that myself easily. :( Also I don't actually own a decent amp yet, so even if I did I would be playing though a Spider III practice amp and the difference would probably be even more obscured.

  • @NoaOno (Continued) -> All I can say is that to my ears, when I play the pickups in real life or record with them in the mix, the difference is huge. The guitar feels more responsive and sort of angry, growly riffs and squeals just fly out of it where they didn't before. It's just more fun to play! I love the Bareknuckles and I've never looked back since getting them... Anyway I hope this kind of helps you man, sorry again that I can't do the video!

  • the aftermath seems quite unique in its tone, very cool. prolly a stupid question, but which amp sim was the POD set on in this demo...? these pods seem to be pretty good for recording.

  • @tubescreamermuff Dual tone patch using the Powerball sim and the Diezel sim.

  • if you like djenty stuff i think you may be missing some frequencies just a simple observation you don't have to listen lol

  • @guitaristman23 What do you mean dude? I deliberately tried to keep the POD settings simple to get a straightforward sound that gives a good representation of the pickups. For the same reason the guitar tracks are unedited, there is no compression or EQ added in post. Could you maybe elaborate what you think is missing? I'd be happy to fix any issues! Cheers :D

  • Anyone who says there's is no difference must be listening through laptop speakers, the aftermaths in comparison are nowhere near as muddy, much tighter, and have a better midrange focus.

  • Not much difference.

  • Hey man, how did you manage to fit Bare Knuckles in your S7420? I have the same guitar and am thinking about switching too, but depends how big a job! cheers

  • The difference is incredible. I would describe it as a a sound that has been compressed rather than the stock ones which sounds clipping-y a bit. Awesome.

  • Bare knuckle has slightly more clarity and thightness.but it doesn't seems a big improve......

  • Bareknuckles obviously have much more bite. The palm mutes towards the end tell the story.

  • at 0:32 is this the white cover option?

  • @DisengageMusic Of course. Thanks man, helped alot, I will get a pair of these. What you explain is just what I want. I will play on different places, on gigs I will most often borrow an amp and then it'd feel sweet to have a really good guitar with good PU's =D
