Ina May Gaskin is still very credible and has real valuable lessons to teach all women, whether midwife, doula, mother to be. Her life lessons make sense and are magnificent anecdotal compendiums that can be discussed and learnt from.

She hasn't changed.

@groundedbirthdoulas Well after 3 c sections I would rather not take the chance. And since I come by ADHD And Autism genetically and all my children are as well I am not worried about those stats. I was vaginally born and came down with them so studies like this I question.

Uterus rupture is more likely if they use cervidol. Which caused massive uterine ruptures. It does depend on the incision site. Low to low mid line C- Sections can have VBACs.
Sadly in a 2008 study they found 1 in 3 children are Born Via C-section. Which would explain the rise in asthma, autism, ADHD, learning difficulties..etc. read PUSHED by Jennifer Block.

A VBAC? Most defiantly.

Ina May is amazing. Read her books! Her guide to both Childbirth and Breastfeeding are amazing!

Great teaching, as always. I think most mws will do VBAC after up to 2 c/s, some will do more, but given the cut-happy climate, I wish we could catch the first babies, so the moms don't get cut to begin with...
Ina May is the Grand-Mother of the incredible movement that is taking birth back to where it belongs: HOME--
God bless her and all of us who have the courage to say no more to pathologized birth.

Ina May is my hero. I read "Spiritual Midwifery" before my last birthing and it made such a difference! She has returned women's awareness of their personal power on a primal level... Go Ina May
