The first fight with Hearns I think was Leonard's best performance of his career. He showed rare confidence while behind during the late stages of an inevitable points loss. He also did something I haven't really seen him do before or since..he planted his feet and ripped fast, powerful shots to the body and head beautifully to earn the stoppage victory. That's the fight in my opinion that showed why he is one of the best boxers in history.

Hearns should of been on his back before the fight is stopped.

@dbreiden83080 Hearns wasn't defending himself at all, that was a fair stoppage. It would have been dangerous to Tommy to let that fight go on. Even Emmanuel Steward said that the ref made right decision.

What a horrible stop that was in the first Hearns fight. Round 14 Tommy is winning the fight, the fuckin ref doesn't let it go even though he is still standing.. Bullshit..
