  • DSC is not only for distress, but also appropriate for urgency and safety communications. So, please explain this too. Look up in the Marine VHF Radio Handbook (forthcoming).

    Please also tell, that after pressing the DISTESS button, and hopefully receive an acknowledgement from the CG, you should say the usual MAYDAY on CH16 while pressing the PTT. Use a simulator to really undarstand how does it work.
