Zen Cart - Downloadable Products

How to set up a new attribute for downloadable products, add a new product, and assign an attribute and downloadable product to a new product.

Shaerrah, I understand how to add a new product and insert information, etc but I still don't understand how to add a file in the download folder.

Also, if you have edited the downloadable file and want to exchange it for what is there, how do I do that? This would be helpful because it would keep all the previous information and I wouldn't have to redo everything.

@HannaPesca Google zen cart download folder. There is an article on moving your download folder for security, Zen Cart's recommendation. For now:

"Usually the "download" folder is located inside your store area, for example:

- /home/my_user_name/public_html­/mystore/download"

simply upload your product file into the folder "download." When you want to update the product, upload the new product with the same name. This will overwrite the old product file.

@sandswillis google this: zen cart no add to cart button It could be admin settings that tell if and how to show the add to cart button or you need to add a quantity available.

@shaerrah Thanks.  I've been able to add the download but my item is free so no 'add to cart' shows up. can you tell me how I can get that to show up?

@sandswillis Zen Cart installs a download folder in the main store folder. There is admin, cache, docs, download. For security, it is recommended you change the name of your admin folder and move the download folder out of the store folder.
