good point. still, most (not all) hetero shipping pairs are usually based off some relationship that could turn into love, such as at least one party shown to be interested in the other. yaoi shipping pairs, however, usually aren't based off anything but than the idea that they would make a good couple and even then they wouldn't work without major changes to both characters' personalities. its understandable since there aren't many realistic yaoi pairings, but they usually end up feeling forced

I can't speak for every slash shipper ever, but I do understand the concept. But there's difference between Guy Love - Shawn & Gus on Psych, JD & Turk from Scrubs - and homoeroticism - like Sherlock & John from Sherlock and House & Wilson from House.
