(Switch to HD). A short hike around Grant Grove in Kings Canyon National Park. Big trees, I mean BIG trees! A must see if your ever in the area. An easy drive to the park and a very easy family hike around the area. Brush up on your foreign language skills as you will run into people from all over the world.

Keep in mind it's $20 to enter the National Park. I purchased a years pass for $30 dollars so I can return and backpack in this area.

Tent and RV camping is available very close by at the Azalea campground 1/4 mile from the grove! Trails from camp lead into the Grant Grove and to the visitor center. There's even a store and restaurant there along with the National Park information center. Open year round first come first serve for $18 dollars a night. This campground has great facilities with flush toilets and wash basin sinks. There are many other camping areas nearby some areas you can camp for free.

Do some research on the other trails and sights in the area as the Grant Grove site is easily seen in an hour or so leaving plenty of time to see other places.

  • It has been thirty or more years since I've been there. Beautiful area and the trees make you feel so small they're so majestic. Wow! Thanks for showing us.

  • Big timbers indeed! Impressive! You have capturing those wonderful trees down to an art form - great vids! Thanks!

  • @thewizardking13 Your the only one I think... and I'm gonna have to censor your comment :-( Sorry. also sorry to hear you got broke into. You still have the little camera you bought during your vacation? Most of those little still cameras will do videos. That's what I use is my 10 mega-pixel Canon camera for all my videos now. Quality is surprisingly good.

  • Thanks for the GREAT LOOK at those GREAT TREES !! Truly AWESOME !!
