  • Ugh, I hate what Disney had to do to this. First they moved it to Flordia then they replaced all the audio-the original song was "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow". I hear now it's reverted back and the last scene is updated to be relevent to today's future.

  • RU42 has posted a fantastic video of the Carousel of Progress as it is today.

  • Thanks for putting this up, I had always wanted to know what the older version was like!

  • That's the reason I do it. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Here we are in the speed demon 21st century. I am laying in bed in Maine watching different recordings of this ride, which was released a year before I was born, typing on this new contraption called a laptop and sending you a message over something called the Internet which was invented by some guy named Al Gore. (lol) I'm a woman, I have to work, and I'm contemplating a counter-aging process called plastic surgery. ^sings^ Now is the time, now is the best time. . .

  • I never found clothes like that in the ... 80s lol

  • @Nathan1097 i agree that it's time to update the last scene. they r still talking about car phones and laser discs. kids today younger than around 15-16 have no clue what laser discs and car phones are lol

  • @WDI2008 yes they did and the kids were off to meet them at the new jet airport lol. Gotta love the orginal Carousel of Progress

  • @MrCop11pi I'm sure you know this but Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow isn't new lol. It was written for this ride that opened at the 1964 NY world fair. I'm glad they brought Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow back... now if only they could bring back the 1964 or the 1967 script back. What they have today seems rushed.

  • This attraction first premiered at the New York Worlds Fair in rthe 60's and after its run, moved to Disney.

  • You know its funny, I would have been on this ride in March 1991, my first time. I would have heard this song played but of all the years I went to Magic Kingdom all I can remember is the "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" song. But its funny, I was 11 years old in 1991 and I was so in awe of this attraction, I never forgot about it and it was a must-do every time we went back

  • The ride today is so much better...thank God they changed the song back.

  • Now Dad is unemployed Mom is an alcholic Junior is Gay' Sister is pregnant... AGIAN Grandma's got Alzheimers And Grandpa? Well he didn't make it at all . Great big beautiful tomorrow? . RIGHT!
  • @wiltors When they opened it at the Magic Kingdom in 1975, it was still the same show from Disneyland until 1985, when GE dropped sponsorship of the show. The current version was installed in 1994.

What I wouldn't give to see the original 1964 version. I'd even settle for the 1967 Disneyland version!

  • In my 20's I use to fall asleep on this attraction a lot. LMAO I still remember word for word this song. I prefer this version over the new one, "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow".

  • I'm so confused, this is nothing like I recall it. I remember a female lead, not this guy. And the music is all wrong. There was a scene, when the daughter, screams, because she's caught in her corset. And the end scene, the women is standing in her "modern' kitchen, talking about her "Radar Range" I shouldn't have watched this, now my memory is all jacked up...lol...curse you Walt...curse you.
