Many have inquired about this track, and I didn't have it in my possession until about 3 hrs ago...

Taken from the earliest audience recording of the band known to be in existence, Thin Lizzy performs an extended cover of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell On You", at Frankfurt, Germany on October 8, 1972. Some great guitar work here by Eric Bell and a slick vocal performance by a young Phil Lynott.

Enjoy!

  • I totally agree, you NEVER stop to surprice me!

Were the heck do you get everything from?

    :) Håkan "Robbocop" Granat

  • The way I see it, every live show has a least one gem in it, sometimes more than one. If you can find and download live shows, then you too can have a decent collection. If you don't have one already, I strongly recommend getting an account on DIME. It's all torrent-based, but it doesn't take much to learn how it works, and you can get thousands of shows quite easily, from a variety of artists. Just recently there was a flood of Lizzy material, so now's your chance to get some of it.

  • I also acquired this show a couple of days ago. ^___^

  • I saw that someone else posted an mp3 version on guitars101. I grabbed a lossless version from DIME. It's nice to have options, although I know many people had requested that show in the past year or so...so I'm not sure why it took so long to get it back online.

  • wow, can't believe you got this.

  • I got it in a trade today, and had planned on posting it, but another person also posted the same show on DIME. A funny coincidence really, considering I've been trying to get this show for a couple years now, and the very day I get it, someone else posts it. Haha.

  • @alamaj well yes, it sometimes sounds more like 'since i've been lovin u' than 'iput a spell on u'...

  • Eric Bell was Lizzy's most experimental guitarist and his Strat tones generally make him easy to identify on Lizzy songs although future guitarists would occasionally use a Strat on the odd song .

  • YUK. CCR does it much better, and I LOVE Thin Lizzy!

  • this really is primo

  • Great Stuff here Brutha

  • omg, they must have been knowing Led Zeppelin before that brilliant performance... In my opinion that's a competition & tribute at once... or just a joke ;-) .

Goes to my favs, 'cause "Spell on you" is my greatgreat song of times. Howgh!

  • why don't you upload 'from the beggining' by emerson, lake and palmer?

  • All I can say is WOW

  • Bravo blacksabfan !

    Thanks.
