Jussi's voice hits that spot where grief lives - Rene

Ah Jussi, words cannot express the glory of your art. I would love to know what history allowed Bjorling to inhabit such intense a role as this. This music just inhabits the man. He is there but not there. I agree with some of my fellow admirers: there is nothing that touches me like such music.

It really hearts to hear him sing this aria. His wife(I think she´s still alive) use to say that this role was the one in which he could express his deepest feelings the best. I have the original recording of this aria, and it just keeps to be better every time I listen to it during the 12 years I have had it!

Y cant they just sing the song in its original language? Damn!! Wat a voice though!!!!

There is beauty in this rendition. I am most grateful for your posting.

Not Caruso, very, very close ! Close like noone else!

Thanks to YouTube...this 54 year old American, weaned on Henry Mancini, and steeped in Foghat and King Crimson...has discovered opera. The passion and splendor of it, have changed my life....to all who share their archives, and the other precious posted performances - a deep and sincere thank you. Take it with you, that you achieved so much more than just sharing a performance; you shared an entire world with many of us. I am certain there are hundreds, if not thousands out there like me....

@martianshoes Hear hear martianshoes! I could have written your comments almost word for word. Maestro Rufus Wainwright got me into opera through his first opera Prima Donna a year ago and I haven't looked back since. I have never enjoyed music as much. And Mr Bjorling rocks!
