Wow! You have a real gem! And no worries on the reliability part! I have -never- been stuck on the side of a road with a mechanical issue. Since yours is all original, I suggest you at least look i over, and replace any worn or damaged parts...just for safety. ACVWs were made to last...and your car is proof of it! Take care of that gem, man!

How much would a beetle like this be worth? I really want to get an old beetle, but I dont know if it would be economically worth it (i know they get good mileage, but does such an old car require a lot of $ to keep running?) Thanks!

It would definitely be economically worth it! You can buy fully restored Beetles for as low as $5,000! They do not require a lot of money to keep running, as they are VERY reliable cars! Thats why you see mine running, after 47 years!
