  • This is from Eclipse in't it?

How come the sound is not as good as on AHM?

  • No, it's not from eclipse. It's from "The Darkside rehearsals". Pink Floyd played som DSOTM songs before the actual album was released.

  • Yes I am, this is before the actual album was released though!

  • pink floyd is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better then that bubble gum crap, no offense to MJ but i think i know alot more people who will say the Dark Side of the Moon IS the greatest album ever.

  • who cares if AC/DC sold more , if youve heard one album you pretty much get the picture , and the post Bon scott stuff is woeful! and im pretty sure that guys said "best album ever" not highest selling , because AC/DC have never thought as much about one album as pink floyd did about even one song .when im getting drunk with bikies then ill listen to acdc ,when i want epic music i listen to the floyd. and yes im australian.

  • Tape has been slowed down about 10% which ruins the song and makes it very drony and dull

  • I was at both Brighton concerts in 1972. The January one was the first date on the tour and was the first time they played DSOM in public. As you came in, the pre-DSOM heartbeat was already going in quadrophonic with some of the rear speakers balanced on auditorium seats! But yes there was a technical problem in "Money" so they stopped it. On the upside, we got an impromptu performance of "Atom Heart Mother" instead and a return date later in the year.

  • what is the highest selling Australian band? It sure isn't AC/DC!

  • what is the highest selling Australian band?

  • This was the very first time this song was performed in concert. For nearly a year afterwards, Floyd would perform DSOTM as "Eclipse", gradually modifying it until the final recording in 1973. It is very interesting to follow the progress in 1972

  • @DifferenceDiversity Well, AC/DC and Pink Floyd are my two favorite bands and I love them both pretty much equally but you can't compare them, their style, lyrics, mood etc are completely different. It doesn't make any sense comparing them. I can see somebody saying they like Pink Floyd and not AC/DC, but comparing them is pointless.

BTW when you talk about the post-Bon stuff being inferior you surely don't include the Back In Black album do you?

  • Its fun to hear the guys flowing in the same chord progressions but with a definite different artistic style; but yet its still Time... beautiful.

  • this is a great bootleg and also the very first time they attempted to play "eclipse" (the working version of Dark Side Of The Moon)....too bad they had a massive power failure during Money....you can hear it on the tape......they just stop playing and go into Atom Heart Mother after a few minutes
