Jazz guitar lessons: http://bit.ly/TrueFire

Jazz guitar is a wide open place where innovation, interpretation and experimentation run rampant. All of the rules are meant to be broken and the music is played in the moment. One player's ceiling is another player's floor and you can study the form for years and still be nowhere. All this is why we love it so. Jazz is also a highly subjective art form where beauty clearly is in the "ears" of the beholder. There's much debate amongst players about virtually every quality of Jazz but everyone seems to agree that the best way to learn jazz guitar is to listen and study with a master.

  • @GuitarGare I get what you're saying sorry for wasting your time I didn't read the previous comments haha..

  • @SkwisgaarScampini Yes theory is important. No question. This is an ongoing discussion. Read some of the other comments. I'm not the only affected by the way this guy portrays his knowledge. Look at a clinic by Phil Koch for example. Lots of knowledge, Night and day presentation. Fun. A required lubricant for learning. If this guy right here was MY teacher, I'd be a garbage man today. (and making better money, lol)

  • Theory is as essential as breathing. Knowledge is power. This is anything but boring. If you don't learn music theory, you will never be a top tier guitarist. Being "self-taught" or relying solely upon your "ear" is nothing to brag about.

  • @GuitarGare I'm assuming you're saying theory means nothing? Hopefully for your sake that's NOT what you mean..Yeah this guy really makes no sense whatsoever and everything he plays is boring and un inspired, but theory is EXTREMELY important

  • I'm sorry...what?

  • Lmao "jazz musicians aren't smart enough to have another scale in 2 directions" yeah right, not smart, that's funny!

  • funny man. Maybe he is one of "the others" in LOST.

  • like the old sack on the guitar; classy

  • nice video ... i am gonna see more

  • nice
