BOLSHOI BOY ALL HIS HEART

An observational documentary at the Academy of the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow. Focusing on the life and progress of a real life Billy Elliot,15 year old Henry Perkins.

The film charts Henry's progress over the course of his first turbulent year; the challenges of a different culture, a new language and the very different techniques taught at the Academy. It is a unique and revealing portrait of all aspects of life at the Bolshoi Academy culminating in Henry's participation in a hard fought ballet competition in Vienna.

Bolshoi Boy was transmitted as the first programme in the Imagine series in 2007. At 1.8 million it achieved the highest audience in the series and AA Gill described it in the
Sunday Times as a "perfect arts documentary".
