What used to be my home has changed to just a place to stay
A crumbling last resort when day is through
Sometime between sundown and dawn somehow I find my way
To this home motel on Lost Love Avenue
The rooms are all shamble things are scattered on the floor
Just the other side of how much I need you
What used to be my home just has changed to a place to stay
A crumbling last resort when the day is throught
Sometime Between sundown and dawn someway I find my way
to my Home Motel on Lost Love Avenue.
The Rooms are all shamble, things are scattered on the floor
Just the other side of how much I need you.
I call your name and then remember that you don't live here anymore
At my home motel on Lost Love Avenue.
No one seems to really care if I come here at all
And the one who seems to care the least is you
I'm gonna hang a neon sign with letters big and blue
"Home Motel on Lost Love Avenue home Motel on Lost Love Avenue"

@TAPlastic No WILLIE didn't get the words wrong. The person who wrote these lyrics wrote them wrong. WILLIE is singing JUST ANOTHER SIGN and these lyrics say "just the other side" of how much I need you. WILLIE got them right, he knows the song, her wrote it. By the way, he's a heck of a nice guy!

My favorite WIllie song. You have some of the lyrics wrong, though. By the way, I get to play with Willie at my friend Freddy Powers house, in the living room. Cool, huh?
SOMETIME between sundown..
The rooms are all A SHAMBLE
Just ANOTHER SIGN of
The rest of the lyrics are correct. Look up HOME MOTEL WILL TAYOR and STRINGS ATTACHED. We are playing this song tonight.

This reminds me of Ray Charles's old what he used to call his 'death tempo'. The slower the song, the greater the singer (and other musicians) have to be. Cain't nobody sing it like Willie circa mid-60s.
