Maverick Systems have developed the worlds first portable wireless Internet gateway. Allowing for one Internet connected PC to share the connection without the need for cables. Working the same way as a conventional router, the gateway can be plugged into a USB port and allows for instant Internet sharing. The card is unique because it functions as a Router, Access Point and LAN card, and is compatible with NAT, DHCP and static or dynamic IP addresses. The connection can be shared by up to 32 computers simultaneously, and plugged into a base station allowing for a conventional wired LAN connection. Currently only available in Korea, Maverick Systems are looking for international distributors and plan on selling the device to consumers for approximately 3000 yen.

  • how does this work ? if i plug it into my laptop can i use it anywhere ?

  • If you have a normal ADSL or LAN internet connection (cable to the wall) you can plug this into the USB port of the computer thats connected and the Windy 31 becomes a wireless access point so you can share that connection like a normal wireless router. So if you have a laptop or pc with a wireless internet (like airport for the mac) you can connect and use the internet.

  • one yen is like one cent

  • You can; it's composed of the cards you use with laptops from phone companies and a box that you have to buy, them together make wifi. If I can find the item again, I'll message the link.

  • How about Cradlepoint & thier wireless routers? It seems about the same except you need a USB brodband modem that plugs into the router, dials it and then can be accessed by up to 16 computers wirelessly. We have the CTR 350 for about a week and truly love it. Also has 1 RJ 45 ethernet jack on it for at least 1 wired connection. We have a network switch that plugs into the 350 so that printers can also be on the network. The 350 costs about 100bucks after the $25 rebate. We are happy so far.

  • 30 USD

  • how much is 3000 yen

  • Yeah, this... or just follow my video for instructions to do this without buying this card, buy setting up an ad hoc...

  • yeah...either that, or an iPhone, lol... I got an iPod Touch, and I love it!

  • Wow... this is great ... now I can buy Windy 31 and use my T-Mobile hotspot at home anywhere in the country and make calls for absolutely free. I love it ...
