Nothing much new to see here...I'm trying to get this in High Quality -- and it's worked!

So, I've added a 'streetscape', which improves the whole feel -- especially from inside. Oh, and music ('Les Jeux' by George Melachrino).

  • Nice job, Tim! I am trying to get back into rendering my stuff. I haven't done much in a while. I was never able to get Maxwell to work and now am playing with my copy of Cheetah.

I hope to get the quality you get out of Cheetah!

  • Thanks! I'm really looking forward to version 5.0 of Cheetah -- Martin's putting a lot of work into it.

I've not done much with it lately, because I've been playing around with LightUp (have a look at my other vids). BTW, the key to quality is using HDRI and Area Lights. And joining the forum ! ;0)

  • Great model, well done. I love the work of Coop Himmelb(l)au, they come up with some crazy designs. What made you model this particular design.. was it originaly a school project or something? From my understanding Cheetah3D is MAC only, but what type of file did you export from sketchup? Great job nonetheless! Props..

  • Thanks!

I exported using FBX. I did this just for the hell of it, to stretch my SU skills and because I've always wanted to understand this building. Now that I do, some of the mystery has gone out of it.

Actually, I think this is the only good thing CH have done -- everything else by them leaves me pretty cold. They're a bit like Liebeskind, IMO - they talk a good building.

  • Well...it *did* take me rather a long time...I've been working on this on and off for nearly two years, now.

For instance, there's a problem with the lower half of the glass canopy that, in hindsight, is SOOO bleedin' obvious. Ah well, I'll get around to fixing it one day.

  • the only problem is if you work in architect practice you will never ever have enough time to render things to that degree. might as well just use podium plugin for sketchup. fantastic bit of software and unbelievably simple.

saying that though you have made a sick model well done

  • wow... you can make aaaalll this only by studying the photographs of it?? you have a vivid 3d imagination *bow ^^
