The ethanol is what stabilizes the aspartame molecule found in nature...so to speak. You are a proponent of aspartame which shows me how stupid you really are. I was a chemistry major in college. The difference is how the molecules break down and are stabilized by other naturally occuring molecules in nature.

@eason3 Methanol is methanol, there is one form of methanol. It does not matter where it comes from its still methanol. I also think you will find ethanol and methanol do not 'bind' as you say. I am curious as to how you believe the ethanol and methanol 'bind' stabilising the methanol molecule? Please exhibit your knowledge of organic chemistry if you even know what organic chemistry is

It is a different form of methanol. In tomatoes and oranges the methanol is accompanied by the ethanol molecule which stabilizes the methanol by binding with that molecule. Once again look into the research further and you will have the right information...more complete.

@eason3 You are correct with this statement, the only thing is that you can get 4 times as much methanol from eating a tomato then drinking a can of diet soft drink and the formic acid is formed so slowly that it is pretty much removed from the body before its even formed.
