  • I agree with everything John Adams has reflected upon. One of the supreme ironies is that while the Pop Culture sells itself as what is "closest" to the souls of "ordinary Americans" (a frightening commentary on the emptiness of theAmerican soul at present) nothing is actually further from the needs of ordinary Americans than the popular culture. The pop culture is manifestly hostile to, and alienated from, the lives of average people. What could be more unreal than "The Real World"of MTV?
