It pushed 140whp and 121ft-lb. This is a begi s kit with no intercooler so timing was very very low, by low i am talking 16 degrees at 5k rpm, anything more was just too bad to where the knock sensor would kick it down even more.
Once intercooled i should be able to push about 24 degrees.

  • @Damarice07 Currently my overall goal is running smooth.

  • @Triple88a Nice Nice! Im sure youre running off on people with that set up! what is your overall goal?

  • @Damarice07 I'm running a trackdog IC at 7 psi and 35% E85 mix at the moment. Next fuel up should be 65-70% E85. As of right now my car has 800cc DWs, LC-1 wideband, Adaptronic ECU, Begi mani & DP, Garrett 2554, TrackDog IC, Custom 3" catback, 6 speed tranny, FM Antisways and V-Maxx suspension kit.

From memory the person to contact for a MS unit is Braineack however i'm not 100% sure.

  • @Triple88a Sounds good! I should have it ordered within the next week or so, but it will be a few more weeks before i start slapping it on. What does that MS standalone sell for? and who sells it? ps. are you intercooled yet and when is that upgrade coming? also what all other mods do you have besides the S kit?

  • @Damarice07 Personally i'd say install MS get it running good then get a shanghai kit. Reviews are positive on the shanghai kit so i'd say go for it.. The turbo you get with it should be able to push 200 whp so no need to upgrade that. After running the S kit, i'd say intercooler is a must.

  • @Triple88a thanks again for the speedy reply bro. and yes i know they can be pretty harsh on newbys in forums. sucks when you switch makes, you have to learn everything from scratch all over again. Who sells that MS stand alone? also do you think that shanghai S kit from BEGI is a decent set up for its pricing? i plan on buying that, rerouting it to intercooled in front upgrading the turbo and making it a little more powerful that way. dont have a ton of money to fork out all at once. :/

  • @Damarice07 No this is the Garrett kit thats 2k on its own without inter cooler or fuel management system of any kind. For a 90 miata i'd definitely go with a MS standalone and a turbo kit of your liking. Join the miataturbo forums and lurk around there. Just to warn you they dont spoon feed so search before you ask questions.

  • @Triple88a Cool. Is this the kit that runs $1400 something. Im thinking about getting that one and was curious. They are calling is the Shanghai S kit or something like that. either way. what all did you have to upgrade from stock to run your set up? thanks man and i appreciate the quick response. I just bought a 90' for 400 bucks in insanely good condition, only needed a battery and turbo'ing it was the first thing that came to mind when i got it for such a steal.

  • @Damarice07 Because when i was getting this done i was going 300 miles away to get the standalone installed and tuned from scratch. I had no inter cooler at that point, i was running the wastegate open on stock ecu.

  • why didnt you throw the intercooler on there before you dyno'd. you wouldve saved time and money by doing that the first time imo. Were you just eager to see what it would put down or are you trying to get before and after results?
