An introduction to how to deal with first year medical school. Congratulations on getting in by the way! =) Goodluck to all those planning to enter the dark side ;) Sorry about the bad quality of my camera and my voice breaking...I sound like a prepubescent boy.

I hope you find it useful. Remember to ask me questions if you have any! I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Happy New Year!

  • Hi it's me again. Have you made any more of these? It's cool if you didn't I know how busy you'll be but it would be really helpful if you did. Just reply as soon as you can.

  • @LOLatvid123

Hello! Nice to hear from you again. What would you like me to talk about? =)) I am a bit busy but I'll give it a go.

  • do you have to be good at math? to be a med student

  • @supermia1122

No you don't =) But it would be good to do well so you can get a high mark which will go towards your year 12 exam final score.

  • and tooth envy, how much highschool chem do you end up using in med school? Is it more biology or chemistry?

  • Respond to this video... I did chemistry in year 11, 12 and first year biomed...and sadly, a lot of it is forgotten =( same with physics and mathematics. I had trouble remembering how to do quadratic equations once! In med school it's completely different - there's physiology, pathology, clinical medicine - but we still have to understand the underlying processes at the molecular level...so get ready to learn about intracellular signalling pathways!!!

  • isn't she the cutest :)

  • so true....

  • @ToothEnvy -- Would a Nursing degree (Registered Nursing) be of substance before applying for GAMSAT?

  • what was your atar? sorry if its too personal, i'm just really interested as to how high the atars are usually, for the medical students. even though the minimum requirement is around 96, apparently most students that get into medical school have a much higher atar. so i was just wondering

  • ooohhh... just love ur voice and accent.. Good info bdw. thanks for posting.

  • You are so, so, lovely. I really admire you, and the fact that you can draw AND you are a doctor! Thank you for your lovely videos. <3

  • Hello :)

    Really Nice Video :D

    Thanx For The Info :D

  • @OfficialAla straight A is good, but you need more soft skills in med school. Usually the straight A students do well in the pre-clinic (when you only involve with the awfully thick text books, cadaver or microscope). But to be a good clinician, soft skill is a must. How to interact, behave, start a communication and building trust is somehing can't be learned from the book.

  • @incitu i have straight a's in all my sciences...the maths...OH MY GOD...Lord have mercy haha...i really want to be a doctor though! i mean, I'm a hard worker but maths is just not in my genes...I mean, I can't picture myself being anything other than a doctor, does math really determine whether i will be one or not?
