My dear old dad, who left the Roman Catholic Church when it annuulled his parent's marriage making he and his 7 siblings bastards (Despite the fact that they were, all of them, conceived in wedlock.) is holding on to his absolution at the time of death like a motherfucker.

He figures that the RCC owes him something for it's mind boggling stupidity in the matter of his parent's divorce and figures that being able to say, "I'm really, really sorry.." at the end is a fair trade :).

I'm a little confused by that whole exchange. As a Christian, I wasn't offended by smilegrrrl's comment. Should I be? Maybe, I should be. Is there a list of shit that Christians should be offended by and I didn't get a copy?

Is that comment offensive to any other identifyable group other than Christians? If I weren't a Christian and found that comment offensive does that, by some strange default, make me a Christian?
